LAS VEGAS, NV – Las Vegas staple Wayne Newton has recently been accused of several crimes, including animal abuse and sexual harassment, which he fervently denies.
Newton’s attorneys have denied all allegations against the entertainer. A business associate of Newton’s came forward with the claims in a lawsuit against him, saying he is guilty of mismanagement, animal abuse and sexual harassment.
According to documents filed Wednesday in Nevada state court, the lawsuit was filed two weeks ago by the company that bought the rights to convert Newton’s home into a tourist attraction. However, Newton and his lawyers say the accusations are “scurrilous and scandalous.”
Attorney Bryce Kunimoto told The Associated Press that he is confident the case will be dropped. He added that he believes it all boils down to a business dispute.
Both parties are due before a Clark County District Court judge Thursday regarding a restraining order that Newton is seeking against the accusers.
Sexual harassment is something that can occur anywhere and to anyone. Victims can be of any age, gender, race, or sexual orientation and so can the offenders. While many may think that sexual harassment is limited to physical misconduct, it can include a wide range of incidents, from a mild sexual joke someone overhears to a request for sexual favors in exchange for benefits.
No matter what the harassment entails, it is important for all victims to know that they are protected against sexual assault. If you or someone you know has been victimized in Nevada, seek legal help immediately.
Nevada sexual harassment lawyers work diligently to ensure the perpetrator is brought to justice and that victims obtain compensation for their pain and suffering. They will make sure victims’ rights are upheld.
