LAS VEGAS, NV – Las Vegas staple Wayne Newton has recently been accused of several crimes, including animal abuse and sexual harassment, which he fervently denies.
Newton’s attorneys have denied all allegations against the entertainer. A business associate of Newton’s came forward with the claims in a lawsuit against him, saying he is guilty of mismanagement, animal abuse and sexual harassment.
According to documents filed Wednesday in Nevada state court, the lawsuit was filed two weeks ago by the company that bought the rights to convert Newton’s home into a tourist attraction. However, Newton and his lawyers say the accusations are “scurrilous and scandalous.”
Attorney Bryce Kunimoto told The Associated Press that he is confident the case will be dropped. He added that he believes it all boils down to a business dispute.
Both parties are due before a Clark County District Court judge Thursday regarding a restraining order that Newton is seeking against the accusers.
