				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The superintendent of the Brevard County School District has released new data regarding an investigation into a  Brevard County band director who was accused of <a title="sexual harassment" href="http://sexual-harassments.org/sexual-harassment-policies-university-iowa-change/">sexual harassment</a> and hazing.</p>
<p>J. Bernard Wilkins, the band director at Heritage High School in Palm Bay, was accused of making inappropriate sexual comments and physical abuse, in addition to making mishandling band funds.  According to Wilkins, some of the sexual comments made to students were so graphic, he couldn’t put them in public record. He has recommended Wilkins be fired and never allowed to return to the school.</p>
<p>An investigation into the incidents revealed that Wilkins also made racially derogatory comments to the students. Among the physical abuse, Wilkins was accused of beating on a child’s chest with drumsticks to the point it left bruises.</p>
<p>The school board will vote on Wilkins&#8217; termination next Tuesday.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>PARIS, France — France is revamping its sexual harassment laws to include derogatory comments and other inappropriate gestures as sexually offensive actions.</p>
<p>The country adopted a new sexual harassment law on Tuesday which punishes sexual offenders with two years of imprisonment and a fine of 30,000 Euros ($37,000).</p>
<p>The new law defines <a title="sexual harassment " href="http://www.eeoc.gov/laws/types/sexual_harassment.cfm">sexual harassment</a> as “imposing on someone, in a repeated way, words or actions that have a sexual connotation” and either “affecting the person’s dignity because of their degrading or humiliating nature” or putting him or her in an “intimidating, hostile or offensive situation.”</p>
<p>Sexual jokes, hugging or looking at someone up and down will become punishable sexual harassment acts as part of the law.</p>
<p>For more severe sexual harassment offenses, including <a title="sexual abuse" href="http://sexual-harassments.org/la-schools-superintendent-sued-sexual-harassment/">sexual abuse</a> of a minor, offenders can face up to three years in jail and a $53,000 fine.</p>
<p>The new law follows the conviction of a deputy mayor after harassing three employees, who complained that the country’s current sexual harassment law was too vague. The old law restricted the definition of sexual harassment to “obtaining favors of a sexual nature,” and was punishable by a year in jail and a fine of about $18,500.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A series of celebrity chefs have recently made headlines after being accused of sexual harassment. </p>
<p>Georgia chef Paula Deen, known for her southern cooking and cheery personality, is still dealing with a sexual harassment suit filed by a former employee who claims she was harassed for years while working in Deen&#8217;s restaurant. </p>
<p>However, Deen is just one of the many celebrity chefs that have been faced with accusations of workplace hostility. </p>
<p>Las Vegas restaurant owner Rick Moonen was hit with a sexual harassment lawsuit last February by two former bartenders who claimed a general manager at the restaurant made inappropriate sexual comments to them and touched them without their consent. The victims allege that once they complained, they were fired as retaliation. </p>
<p>“Hell’s Kitchen” chef Gordon Ramsey may be entertaining to watch, but according to Janet Kim, Ramsey’s over-the-top behavior gave rise to hostility at the workplace.</p>
<p>Kim filed a complaint alleging that the male staff at one of Ramsey’s restaurants, Commis, harassed her and propositioned her for sex while she was working there as a chef.</p>
<p>While Kim didn’t say that Ramsey was involved in the harassment, she did claim that his abrasive attitude created a hostile work environment, which contributed to harassment.</p>
<p>Food Network&#8217;s Anne Burrell was also slapped with a sexual harassment allegation. Female employees claimed Burrell made derogatory comments about their breasts and clothing and alleged that male employees received preferential treatment. They also contend they were fired once they brought forth complaints. </p>
<p>Are these celebrity chefs brewing good food or sexual harassment in their kitchens? This will be a matter for courts to decide.</p>

The employees claim that the unwanted behaviors were directed at them as well as other workers. They allege they were subjected to sexual conduct, being required to join other workers at strip clubs or brothels. They also allege that employers attempted to coerce at least one employee into engaging in sexual conduct with a prostitute. They contend they were forced to work in a “sexually charged environment.”</p>
<p>According to the sexual harassment complaint, AutoNation has already been sued for discrimination against homosexuals. One of the employees happens to be gay and was allegedly  subjected to homophobic insults. The other employee says he too was subjected to derogatory comments because he defended his coworker. </p>
